What is the SOSORT Award
The SOSORT Award is given to the two best papers presented during the SOSORT Meeting. The tradition was started in Athens 2008. The Award is the publication for free in the SOSORT Official Journal "Scoliosis".
Rules of the SOSORT Award
All abstracts submitted to the SOSORT Meeting are considered for the SOSORT Award.
The Scientific Committee give votes to the abstracts and the best are selected for a second review by the SOSORT Award Committee.
The SOSORT Award Committee is made by four members of the International Scientific Committee, chosen by the Chair of the Committee, Toru Maruyama, together with the President of the Meeting, Stefano Negrini: all authors of the abstracts considered for the Award are excluded and the maximum possible interprofessional representativeness is guaranteed.
The SOSORT Award Committee is presieded by the Chair of the International Scientific Committee or, in case he has one abstract participating to the Award, by another member of the SOSORT Board chosen by him and the President of the Meeting.
The selected abstracts are reviewed by the SOSORT Award Committee and the best four-five invited to submit a full paper for evaluation according to the established Deadline.
At this stage only papers not published before, nor submitted to any journal can further participate to the selection process; authors submitting their final paper accept not to publish their paper other than in Scoliosis Journal.
The received papers are reviewed and judged; after the oral presentation, the two best papers are chosen to receive the final Award, that is given in a specific ceremony at the end of the Meeting.
The SOSORT Award Committee have the right to award more then two papers, even if only two will be published for free in Scoliosis Journal.
