What is a SOSORT Consensus
During the first Barcelona Meeting, while still discussing if it was better to make of SOSORT a Study Group or a Scientific Society (and it was at first decided for a Study Group) and what timing was useful for the SOSORT to meet (annually or biannually), it was decided to start with a biannual scientific meeting. Since there already was a strong feeling on the need to meet annually, it was decided to have a Meeting, between the two scientific ones, devoted to increasing knowledge and common background for the SOSORT. For this main reason, it was felt that comparing the different common practices between participants could be the good strategy, and in Milan the first Consensus Meeting was held, developing three key topics: bracing, exercises and reasons for treatment. After the success of the Milan meeting, it was decided to maintain Consensuses as a key initiative of SOSORT and, having created the scientific Society, and having decided to have a scientific Meeting every year, it was defined to have one or two Consensus per year too.
