Short biographical notes (300 words) He was born in Rome on 30 August 1938.
He graduated from the University of Catania in 1964, with 110/110 and a proposal for the award Clementi.
After graduation he worked for about two years at the Institute of Human Anatomy, directed by prof. Bianco as an assistant in charge.
Volunteer assistant at the University of Sassari (1966) in 1967 followed his Director, Professor Mario Boni, at the University of Pavia. At this University, by 01.01.1967, he served first as a volunteer assistant at the Department of Orthopaedics, then as assistant in charge, assistant professor, lecturer. On 01.08.1980, after a competitive examination, he obtained the professorship for teaching as associate professor of pathology of the musculoskeletal system. He received three specialties: specialties in orthopedics, with honors. specialty in physical and rehabilitation medicine, with cum laude honors and specialties in sports medicine, with the highest grades and honors.
Director of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the functional II.AA.RR of Pavia from 05.02.1996 to 31.08.2003, the date of retirement.
Award received (Year, title of the scientific work, awarding institution) Prize for the best graduate Clementi, Catania 1964. The award was used to partially finance the stay of five months in Oxford at the Nuffield Clinic headed by prof. Trueta.
Award Policlinico San Matteo, 1967. The award is served in part to finance the two-month stay in Paris at the Clinique de Génétique Médicale directed by prof. Lamy.
SIOT Prize for a stay abroad. The award was used to fund a six month stay in Lyon, at the Clinique Orthopédique directed by prof. Trillat.
Fellowship at the Orthopaedic Clinic Hughson. It was used to finance two years and three months stay at Tulane University, Columbus section of Georgia, headed by prof. J. C. Hughston.
